A member of the gang arrested for the one of the biggest art thefts in history was determined to strike it rich by hook or by crook - after he flopped on the TV quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Baker Rasko Mladenovic, 37, was arrested by Serbian police earlier this month for his part in the 90 million GBP raid on a Swiss gallery that netted paintings by Monet, Degas, van Gogh and Cezanne.
Now it has emerged that he turned to crime after failing to make his fortune on the Serbian version of the millionaire-making TV quiz show.
Mladenovic went home with just 700 GBP after lasting nine questions - and teamed up with gangster Ivan Pekovic, who masterminded the raid on the Buehrle Museum in Zurich.
The pair were among the three suspects arrested earlier this month in Belgrade when police recovered Cezanne's 68.3 million GBP "The Boy in the Red Vest", one of the works stolen from the Swiss collection in 2008.
Mladenovic had been working as a baker in Cacak after the gang had apparently been unable to sell the paintings.
