Croatia behind European household internet access average

Croatia lags behind the rest of Europe when it comes to access to the internet, reports portal bankamagazine.hr.
In the first three months of 2011, 61 per cent of households had access to the internet in Croatia, while the average in the EU was 73 per cent.
The largest number of households with access to the internet was via broadband. Some 64 per cent had access via DSL, while 24 per cent of households had cable internet. The remainder went to dial-up access (6 per cent) and access via mobile phone (6 per cent).
In relation to the 2010, the number of households accessing the Internet via DSL had dropped 4 per cent, while those accessing via mobile phone rose from 4 to 6 per cent, and cable internet from 21 to 24 per cent.

Croatia to take part in building two pipelines
