Croatian Rugby team keeps hopes alive

More than 4,000 fans turned up to watch the Croatian Rugby team play an important European play-off match against Malta in Zagreb on Saturday, reported daily newspaper Jutarnji list.
Despite playing most of the match while being a player short after Dominik Drazenovic had been sent off in the first half for taking out a man in the air, Croatia were too strong for Malta running out 31-16 winners.
The victory means Croatia avoided bottom place in their Division and now secures at least a play-off match to stay in the European Nations Cup Division 2A.
One player to impress was Shane Vinac, who travelled from New Zealand for the match. Vinac scored a try on his debut.
"We made a lot of mistakes in the first half, but we fixed that in the second half. It was wonderful to make my debut for Croatia," said the Kiwi-Croat.
